This week seems to have flown by. It hasn’t been a very busy week, as far as Postcrossing goes, but there has been a little bit of activity. Two cards arrived this week. The first card arrived from Hong Kong.
The second card arrived from the Netherlands. I like that I’m finally getting some cards from Holland. Piet very graciously sent me a vintage card featuring people in traditional costume, something I’d requested in my profile. I love it and immediately tagged it as a fave.
The costumes in the picture hail from the fishing village of Urk, which was situated on a small island in the Ijsselmeer. The land around the village has since been reclaimed and Urk is no longer on the water. The scene also shows the fishing fleet heading out to the North Sea. This is definitely a card with a story.
In addition to the two cards arriving, three cards went out this week. Well, two have already gone out; the third one will be going into the mail later today.
This card is winging its way to Finland. We do live in a beautiful city, don’t we? The next card is making its way to Germany. And finally, this last card will be going to Poland.
