As the title implies, two cards arrived in my mailbox this week, one part of Postcrossing, the other not. The first card, the Postcrossing card, came from Tanya in the Ukraine.
What a gorgeous display of hand embroidered towels! What I wouldn’t give to be able to examine the display a little more closely. As she writes on the card, “Each of them tells its own story encrypted in colorful patterns.” Wonderful!
And Tanya knits!
The second card to arrive is part of a Ravelry postcard exchange. There is a Postcrossing group on Ravelry and one of its members wrote to let us know that another group, Pen Fetish Crafters, was hosting a postcard exchange and anyone was welcome to participate. I decided to join and received this beautiful card from Andy in Vermont.
Andy took this photo while visiting Butchart Gardens on Vancouver Island in 2004. I have to say, Butchart Gardens is one of my favourite places to visit. It’s been many years since I’ve been there and I would dearly love to visit there again. Quite honestly, it would be difficult to take a bad picture there. It truly is a beautiful place. If you are ever on Vancouver Island, it’s a must see!
There is one more Ravelry postcard exchange card coming one of these days. I sent out two cards and will receive two in return. I know it’s not Postcrossing but a postcard is a postcard, right?
